The beauty of Zenthai Shiatsu is in its fluidity. Each session is uniquely tailored to your specific needs. It is a conversation between mind, body and spirit.

· Stretching & Movement: Gentle stretches and supported movements increase circulation of blood, lymph, synovial fluid and subtle energy. This helps to speed up recovery and improve range of motion.

· Focused Pressure: Zenthai uses acupressure and deep tissue techniques to disburse physical tension and reduce pain.

What to expect in a session

Each Zenthai Shiatsu session begins with a conversation. I want to understand your needs, your challenges, and what you’re looking to heal or transform. From there, I create a treatment tailored to you, moving through a combination of pressure, stretches and gentle adjustments.

You’ll remain fully clothed in comfortable attire, and I’ll guide you through the session with compassion and mindfulness. Expect to feel deeply relaxed, grounded, and restored as we work together to release tension and bring harmony to your whole being.

  • Before: Arrive well-hydrated and allow time for food to digest beforehand.

    Consultation: We begin talking, taking time to tune in, understand your physical condition, emotional state and any specific intention you have (e.g., stress relief, pain management, or improved flexibility). This talk is important to help me customise the session to focus on areas of tension or imbalance while promoting overall well-being.

    During the treatment: I guide your body through gentle pressure, stretches, joint mobilisation techniques on a padded mat on the floor using.

    After the session: We take a moment to share observations. I can offer recommendations (e.g., stretches or self-care practices) to compliment the treatment. Take it easy after the session to allow your body to integrate the work.

  • Zenthai Shiatsu is suitable for everyone however certain practices are contraindicated for high blood pressure or pregnancy. Consultation is an important part of the treatment to make sure I can support you safely.

  • Zenthai Shiatsu is typically performed fully clothed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, such as yoga to allow for ease of movement and clean socks to keep feet warm.

  • I take bookings for 45 mins, 1 hour or 90 mins depending on the depth of the treatment you are seeking. Initial consultations are for 1 hour minimum and subsequent sessions may be frequent and shorter or longer deeper sessions maybe ideal.

  • Most of my clients book monthly or seasonal maintenance treatments. If we are working with an acute condition, you may consider weekly treatments.

  • Zenthai Shiatsu unique Thai massage as it offers a tailored and personalised approach incorporating many Thai massage techniques as well as tools from Zen Shiatsu, Osteopathy and remedial massage.
